Surfing Chile
The wonderful country of Chile is popular for a wide number of reasons, including the culture, the weather, the natural landscape and the accommodating disposition of those that inhabit this great land. Chile is also however a very popular as a surfing destination, with enthusiasts of the sport coming from far and wide to surf its shores. Chile is hailed as the surfing California of the 1950’s, with big breaks and very little people to share them with.

The northern parts of the Chilean coastline are most popular with surfers, and apart from just the deepest part of Chilean winter (July/August) surfing is possible here all year round.
Some world class surfers have hailed form Chilean waters; Ramon Navarro, Christian Merello and Diego Medina are well respected world wide in the sport and major surfing events are now cropping up across the countries shores.
Apart from the spectacular surfing spots found in the North of the country, central Chile provides a more friendly surfer environment, but that isn’t to say that
Amazingly Chile provides an average of 300 surf’able days a year and is rapidly gaining in popularity as a world renown surf spot destination. Chile as an overall tourist destination has grown greatly in popularity in the last few years, consequently you can now get very reasonable flights to the country from the UK. Furthermore accommodation is very resaonably priced and a large number of excellent hostels can be found strewn across this fabulous country for those visitng on a restricted budget.
